A 13-strong squad from Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) starts a packed tour of Namibia today, which has been organised by Sporta Tours.

Along with seven fixtures, the 12-day tour will also see the squad lead two coaching clinics for local players as it seeks to help promote and assist the development of cricket in the country.

“The club is looking forward to a very busy schedule,” Matthew Jackson, MD of Sporta Tours commented. “As official tour supplier to MCC and with long established relations within the country, including Cricket Namibia, we were able to devise a comprehensive itinerary for this significant tour across two key locations.”

The MCC Namibia tour will feature competition at Wanderers Cricket Ground and United Cricket Ground in the country’s capital, Windhoek, with matches taking place from Friday 4 to Tuesday 8 November before the squad heads west to Walvis Bay on the coast. A further three fixtures will take place in Walvis Bay including a 50-over clash with Welwitschia Sparta CC on the last day of the tour, Sunday 13 November.”
