For every sports tour and tournament we provide comprehensive travel information. This includes risk assessments and recommendations according to the destination booked for your Sporta Tours sports tour.
We provide guidance on packing plus Visa requirements and any pre-travel medical advice. We’ll also provide useful reminders on essentials such as travel insurance. If you travel without adequate travel insurance cover, we will not be liable to you for any losses howsoever arising where cover would otherwise have been available.
Financial Protection
We’re ATOL (9684) & ABTA (Y6727) members. It’s an important detail, don’t tour without it. For our school groups, we’re also proud members of the School Travel Forum and have been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Badge.

TravelHealthPro exists to protect the health of British travellers. It provides a comprehensive resource and is recommended by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
Advice on recommended vaccinations and precautions can also be obtained from a health professional such as a GP, practice nurse, pharmacist or a travel health clinic. This should sought at least 8 weeks before departure.
Passport, Health and Visa Requirements
A brief summary of the passport and visa requirements for UK citizens to our destinations is provided below. Some destinations may have certain health requirements, including specific vaccinations. The information provided here is correct at the time of writing and is not exhaustive – additional requirements may apply. Coronavirus restrictions and requirements are not detailed here and may also apply.
CARIBBEAN – Our destinations in the ‘Caribbean’ include Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados and St Lucia. For Antigua & Barbuda, your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry. For Barbados, your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. For St Lucia, your passport should be valid for the duration of your stay. Visas are not required for UK citizens to enter any of these countries.
FAR EAST – Our destinations in the ‘Far East’ includes Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. For Hong Kong, although it is part of the People’s Republic of China, it remains a Special Administrative Region with its own immigration controls. You can visit Hong Kong for up to 6 months without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least one month after the date of your departure from Hong Kong. For Malaysia, British nationals do not need a visa to visit. You will normally be given permission to stay for 3 months on arrival. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Malaysia. For Singapore, you don’t normally need a visa to enter for stays of up to 90 days for tourism, business or social visits. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Singapore. If you are intending to transit Singapore to neighbouring countries, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.
FRANCE – If you hold a British Citizen passport, you don’t need a visa to enter France. You will be able to travel to countries in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa as a tourist. You must have at least 6 months left on an adult or child passport to travel to most countries in Europe.
HOLLAND/THE NETHERLANDS – If you hold a British Citizen passport, you don’t need a visa to enter Holland/The Netherlands. You will be able to travel to countries in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa as a tourist. You must have at least 6 months left on an adult or child passport to travel to most countries in Europe.
INDIA – You’ll need to get a visa before travelling to India. India issues various types of visas, including transit visas and e-visas. Make sure you get the right visa for your travel and that it’s valid for the purpose and duration of your stay. To avoid possible problems at immigration, make sure your passport is valid for a minimum of 180 days at the time of entry into India.
KENYA – You need a visa to enter Kenya. Kenyan entry visas are exclusively issued electronically, with passengers required to obtain their e-visas before departure. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Kenya.
NEPAL – Visas are required to enter Nepal. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months when you submit your application for a visa.
NORTH AMERICA – Our destinations in the ‘North America’ include Canada and the United States. For Canada, British Citizens don’t usually need a visa to visit Canada for short periods, but you’ll need to get an Electronic Travel Authorisation before you travel. Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required. For the United States, your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. You don’t need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this. The US Customs and Border Protection programme Global Entry gets pre-approved travellers through border control faster at some US airports.
RWANDA – You need a visa to enter Rwanda. Thirty-day tourist visas are free and available on arrival for citizens of member states of the Commonwealth (including the UK), as well as for those of the African Union and the Francophonie. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Rwanda.
SOUTH AFRICA – Your passport should be valid for at least 30 days beyond your intended date of exit from South Africa, in line with South African immigration regulations. However, some immigration officials still request that a passport should have at least 6 months validity on the date of entry to South Africa. To avoid problems at the airport on arrival, you’re advised to ensure your passport is valid for six months. There are no visa requirements for UK citizens.
SPAIN – If you hold a British Citizen passport, you don’t need a visa to enter Spain. You will be able to travel to countries in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa as a tourist. You must have at least 6 months left on an adult or child passport to travel to most countries in Europe.
SRI LANKA – Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry to Sri Lanka. Visas and application fees have been required for UK citizens, although Sri Lanka have also been issues tourist visas free of charge in recent times to assist their tourism industry.
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Visas are not required for UK citizens. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into the UAE.
Travel Insurance
You are required to take out adequate travel insurance for all members of your tour when booking with Sporta Tours. This should cover against the cost of cancellation by you/group members, the cost of assistance, including repatriation, in the event of accident or illness or death, loss of or damage to baggage/equipment, loss of money and other expenses. It must also include cover for all activities you have booked, including cover for sports injuries or fatalities for sports participants. Travel Insurance should be in place from the date the booking is confirmed and the deposit paid.
