Founder of the company back in 2006, Matthew knows Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah like the back of his hand, and in particular, the complex structure of its cricket community.
A fanatical cyclist, he is often out on the roads of Sussex and the Dubai cycle tracks during his free time. Matthew is an enthusiastic, if average, village cricketer and is not shy of reminding us that he scored a 50 just after his 50th Birthday… we hope he gives up cricket before he gets to 60!
David has been part of the Sporta Tours team since 2007. He now undertakes a non-executive role, utilising his extensive experience in company operations to support our continued growth and success.
An avid sportsman, he likes to dabble in a variety of sports with football being his main passion. David has finally made the last step in his football career which has seen him move from centre forward, to midfield, to defence, to a (rather poor) goalkeeper. He is now content with bringing the oranges on a Saturday. His boots are always in the back of the car, just in case.
Operations & HR Manager
Christine worked alongside Matthew to help set Sporta up in 2006.
Now Head of Operations & HR, she manages our flight and accommodation bookings with meticulous attention to detail.
A keen hiker, Christine is looking forward to helping host more tours in Nepal!
Senior Account Manager
Emily works with the professional teams who choose Sporta for their tour logistics and pre-season tours. Her sharp organisational skills and friendly personality help us deliver seamless and exciting tours abroad. She is well known to many of the schools who work with us and is also an integral part of the Sporta Management team.
Sam joined the team in 2014 as a graduate of Henley Business School, Reading University. He spent much of his time playing hockey and organising his university team’s trips, so a career in sport tours and management was the perfect progression. As Destination Manager he manages tours and events to many of our destinations. He is also involved in our marketing and IT and the person we all turn to with computer woes. Cricket, rugby, running, and field hockey are his favourite sports.
Sales & Marketing Executive
Megan joined us from Manchester United’s hospitality team. Armed with a law degree from the University of Swansea, she got stuck in immediately. Her role involves leading our inbound UK tours and travelling with touring teams to destinations such as the UAE and Nepal.
Away from her desk, Megan can comfortably outrun all of us, having competed successfully at Regional and County level in cross country running, as well as rowing and horse riding.
Michael has worked in sports travel for many years and has extensive experience managing tours for schools, clubs and teams. He is based in the North East and focused on developing tours for our clients in this region.
Sport is his greatest passion, particularly rugby and cricket. He has represented Durham CCC and Northumberland CCC and coached here in the UK and overseas. With some fantastic travel experiences under his belt too, including time spent in Spain, Australia and New Zealand, he is able to combine both in his role here at Sporta.
Mark plans and co-ordinates tours to Sri Lanka, and also helps out on our tours to the UAE, having toured to both destinations on numerous occasions. Mark is a very accomplished cricketer having played to minor counties standard with Berkshire CCC, and has also played rugby with the British Police. Mark also plays a leading role in organising youth cricket with the Barmy Army.
There isn’t a batsman in the world that Mark hasn’t got out, or a bowler he hasn’t hit for four.
