The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced Sporta Tours will be its official logistics partner for the new North vs South 50-Over series to be held in UAE next month.

The agreement will see Sporta manage the travel, accommodation and team liaison requirements for the three-match tournament which will feature a blend of current and potential England one-day players.

It is being introduced for the first time this year to support England’s preparations for two ICC Global events to be staged in the country over the next three years; this summer’s ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.

ECB Commercial Director Sanjay Patel said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Sporta Tours once again to support this series. They have provided outstanding logistical support for our international teams in the past and we look forward to drawing on their expertise and professionalism in meeting the needs of both squads.”

Matthew Jackson, managing director of Sporta Tours commented: “We’re very pleased to announce a new partnership with the ECB and further cement our relationship with the sport. It’s a natural extension of our previous work in supporting domestic county teams as well as managing training camps for the England Lions and England Women’s squads and the England Test squad’s pre-Ashes camp in Spain in 2015.

“With a ten year track record working in the UAE, we are now established as the market-leading operator in the region and we’re firmly committed to playing our part in making the new tournament a success on and off the field.”

Sporta Tours will oversee the squads’ arrival into Dubai ahead of warm-up fixtures on March 15. Three further matches will then be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 17 and 19 and the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on March 21.
