ICC Chief Executive Dave Richardson has thanked MCC for its role in making the first pink ball day/night Test match a reality. The Club has played its last six Champion County fixtures under lights in Abu Dhabi in order to aide research into the format, and we at Sporta Tours have been providing the travel logistics for the matches in our role as the MCC’s travel partner.

The historic inaugural day/night Test match, between Australia and New Zealand, starts in Adelaide on 27 November and will be played with a pink ball. Day/night Tests are part of the process to help test cricket thrive.

With the help of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Club and the Emirates Cricket Board, Sporta Tours have made the Champion County fixture a reality, giving the MCC the platform to carry out this important research. During this time, stars of the game such as Alastair Cook, Virender Sehwag,  Muttiah Muralitharan and Rahul Dravid have featured for the MCC. The match has also been an opportunity for future stars such as Sam Billings, James Taylor and Ben Stokes to gain First Class experience.

2016 will be no different. The MCC will take on Yorkshire County Cricket Club for the second year running, with the teams to be announced in the New Year. If you would like to travel to watch this 4-day fixture, we are offering a Supporters’ Tour with Yorkshire CCC, including hospitality in the Chairman’s Box at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium and many other benefits.
