The 10th annual U13 Sussex Cricket Festival, hosted by Sporta Tours and Sussex County Cricket Club, takes place at Ardingly College this month.
The 2016 tournament runs from 14th – 19th August and will see six teams compete for the title of champion.
Each game is 40 overs with every team taking part in five games during the course of the festival. It will follow a round-robin format, with games beginning at 10:30am each day, apart from the final day’s games which commence at 10:00am. 2016 Sussex Cricket Festival Overseas Players
Every year the U13s Sussex Cricket Festival draws overseas teams. It brings different styles of cricket to the tournament and provides a great challenge for the UK players, particularly if they have not previously experienced playing against overseas sides before.
This year’s competitors include returning champions; Hertfordshire CCC, plus Zayed Academy from Abu Dhabi, Dorset CCC, Jersey, Sussex CCC and the Skillz Cricket Academy who are also locally based. Previous tournaments have hosted international teams such as the ICC Academy Warriors from Dubai, The Netherlands and Guernsey.
Sussex Cricket Tournament Location
Ardingly College provides a fantastic setting and variety of facilities for the tournament. Teams stay on site in one of the school’s boarding houses and are able to socialise in their free time and make use of the swimming pool, sports hall, playing fields and common room within the grounds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are also provided daily.
