Sample itinerary

All of our tours are tailor-made to meet the requirements of each school and club but to give you an idea of how a rugby tour to Dubai and the UAE could look here’s a sample itinerary…

Day 1 – Arrive into Dubai or Abu Dhabi from an overnight flight. At the airport, a representative of Sporta Tours will meet you. Transfer to a local school or academy for a morning of training. Check into your hotel for rest, relaxation, exploring the surrounding area and an early night!

Day 2 – In the morning, acclimatise with a light training run along the beach, with the iconic Burj Al Arab as your backdrop, then, depart the hotel after breakfast for your first game at 7he Sevens Ground, the home of the Emirates Rugby 7s event. In the afternoon, visit one of the UAE’s water parks, which are among the world’s best.

Day 3 – In the morning, depart for a kayaking trip around the Dubai Palm, or a second training session. Return to the hotel in the afternoon in time to explore the souks, Dubai’s world famous traditional market, and the picturesque Dubai Creek.

Day 4 – Depart the hotel for your second match against a local Dubai school. In the evening, visit Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping centre, and enjoy dinner underneath the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, whilst enjoying the fountain show.

Day 5 – Visit the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding for a delicious cultural lunch in a wind house, a traditional building designed to stay cool within before air conditioning! Here you will also be encouraged by the good-humoured and friendly Islamic hosts to ask questions about their faith. In the afternoon, relax on the beach or play a spot of beach touch rugby!

Day 6 – Enjoy a mid-tour morning of relaxation in bed! Return to the hotel in the mid afternoon to be picked up for a desert safari
 trip. Enjoy an evening of cultural experiences and dinner with the desert safari team.

Day 7 – A day spent in Abu Dhabi. Depart the hotel for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque for a tour. After lunch, play your third fixture at the Zayed Sports City complex. En route to the hotel, stop off at the Yas Marina F1 GP Circuit for a walk, cycle or run around the track. Or, pay a visit to Ferrari World, the world’s largest indoor theme park!

Day 8 – Check-out of the hotel in the morning and then have the opportunity to return to the souks or the mall to buy those last minute gifts for friends and family back home! In the afternoon, complete your tour with a private catamaran cruise, with an onboard barbecue, along the coast of Dubai.

Day 9 – Check-in at the airport, Dubai’s is only a ten minute drive from the city centre, and fly home around midnight.
