Yodhin Punja, one of the UAE’s most promising young players, has announced he will travel to England to join Claremont High School on a cricket scholarship this September.

Last year, Punja was spotted by Claremont High School whilst leading Zayed Cricket Academy to the U16 ARCH Cup title.

The ARCH Cup, organised by Sporta Tours, enters its tenth edition in 2017. Schools from England, New Zealand and South Africa have won the cup since 2007, with further representation coming from Irish and Kenyan schools too in what is a truly international event.

“The ARCH tournament has been a strong platform for schools and academies to test themselves against international opposition for a number of years”, said Matthew Jackson, Managing Director of Sporta Tours.

It’s fantastic to hear that this platform has now helped Yodin develop his potential as a cricketer; he has worked extremely hard for this opportunity to play in England. It is also great news for our ARCH Tournaments which continue to go from strength to strength”.

Punja is currently competing in the ARCH Trophy, the U19 version of tournament. Sporta Tours are currently inviting teams to participate in the 2017 and 2018 editions. Please visit our ARCH webpage or Contact Us.
